In 1992 the Bradley/Murphy Trust began to evaluate and award modest grants to publicly recognized and qualified organizations whose programs paralleled the objectives of the Trust. Primary attention has been given to proposals that 1) Establish links between non-industrial private forest owners and professional foresters, 2) Involve non-industrial private forest owners and consulting foresters, and 3) Provide solutions to environmental problems through the free market system.
Between 1992 and 2012 over $200,000 in grant money was awarded. Those recipients of grants were required to prepare a final report showing that the project was completed as planned.
Currently the Bradley/Murphy Trust is primarily funding projects that are identified by the Trustees. This web site and the Directory of Alabama Consulting Foresters is the latest Bradley/Murphy Trust project.
